A well-earned 'thank you'
Our hard-working volunteers joined staff members, trustees and other supporters at the annual Christmas lunch to thank them for their hard work and commitment to the cause during 2025. President of the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton GCB welcomed all those present to the event at the Dover Marina Hotel & Spa Tapestry Collection by Hilton, one of the Trust's much-valued busines sponsors. All those present enjoyed a splendid Christmas lunch

Guiding the guides
Local guides have a better idea of the attractions on offer at the Memorial following a tour of the site given by Memorial Manager Jules Gomez. Jules took a large party from the South East Tourist Guides Association around the clifftop home of the National Memorial to the Few, taking in our replica aircraft, Stuka sculpture and Christopher Foxley-Norris Memorial Wall. They also enjoyed a visit to The Scramble Experience. Blue Badge Tourist Guide Tanya Firth said the membe

New year - new opportunity
Changes to admission arrangements at the Memorial in the new year will make it cheaper for all our visitors to enjoy the high-tech information and family fun on offer in The Scramble Experience. From 6 January, visitors will have to pay a small fee to enter our Wing visitor centre, but access to the audio-visual delights of the Experience will be included within the price, which will be lower than the current cost of accessing the Experience. Entry to The Wing will cost £

We will remember them
The Trust's annual service of commemoration to mark Remembrance Day was again well attended, with volunteers and Trustees joined by visitors and by villagers from Capel-le-Ferne. The Trust always holds a service on 11 November, rather than the closest Sunday, in honour not just of the Few who served in the summer and early autumn of 1940 but of all those who sacrificed so much in two world wars and in more recent conflicts. Wreaths were laid at the base of the National Memori

Join us on Remembrance Day
The Trust will again be holding its annual Service of Remembrance at 11 am on Tuesday 11 November, remembering the sacrifices made by those lost in past conflicts. This is a short but poignant service, followed by wreath laying, and is usually well attended by volunteers, visitors and local people from Capel-le-Ferne and nearby. Please join us, and please arrive ten minutes or so before the 11am start.

The incredible story of Wing Commander Bob Doe DSO DFC*, celebrated as one of the highest scoring Aces in the Battle of Britain, was told to a spellbound audience by his daughter, Dr Helen Doe, on Sunday (12 Oct).
