We Will Remember Them

Malcolm

Blue skies and sunshine greeted a large crowd of villagers, volunteers, staff and Trustees who paid their respects at the National Memorial to the Few on Remembrance Day.

The Battle of Britain Memorial Trust always holds its Service of Commemoration on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, rather than the closest Sunday, and this year's event was as always a moving and respectful one.

Led by Father Kevin Jacobs, Chaplain of St Mary-in-Castro, Dover, the service also featured contributions by Trustees Andy Simpson and Barry Duffield and by site manager Jules Gomez.

The service was followed by wreath laying, with many of the visitors then taking the opportunity to look around the Memorial or enjoy refreshments in the Cockpit Cafe.
