They stood with the Few

Malcolm

The Trust's ambitious Blade of Honour project is aimed at recognising 'the `Many', those who served in a support role either during the Battle of Britain (10 July to 31 October) or one month either side of it.

Relatives of those who served, perhaps as ground crew or in the WAAF or Observer Corps, are invited to purchase a commemorative stone that will be laid alongside one of the white propeller blades that extend out from the National Memorial to the Few at the Trust's clifftop home.

There are full details of the scheme here - and for a fascinating insight into the kinds of people who could be remembered as part of this tribute, read Geoff Simpson's moving and inspirational blog.
