Former trustee, long-term friend of the Trust, author and acknowledged expert on the Battle of Britain Geoff Simpson will be presenting his fascinating talk on 'the Few' at an evening meeting hosted by the British Modern Military History Society at Woodcote near Reading in November.
Geoff, who has been studying the Battle of Britain since the 1980s and has interviewed and corresponded with several hundred of The Few, will deliver his talk on 9 November 2022 at Woodcote Village Hall.
Geoff has written a well-respected history of the Battle of Britain Fighter Association, the organisation only members of the Few were eligible to join and which has now been incorporated into the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust.
He has also produced nearly 1,000 new and re-written entries for Men of the Battle of Britain by Kenneth G Wynn, the standard reference work now published by the Trust in association with Frontline Books.
Geoff was a trustee of the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust from 2000 to 2015 and the Trust’s historical consultant until 2017. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, a member of the RAF Historical Society and an honorary member of the Pen and Sword Club for military and Ministry of Defence communications specialists.
