An electrical contracting company that has supported the Memorial since 'day one' has become one of the Trust's first official sponsors.
Paul Hooker, managing director of Stanford, Kent-based eco electrical contractors, completed the electrical installation at The Wing when it was being built in 2014 and continued to look after the maintenance and more recent installations after setting up his own business in November 2015.
Visiting the site with office manager and company secretary Hayley Andrews, now also his fiancé, he said he had developed "a really close attachment" to The Wing and the other features at the Memorial.
"I felt it was important to sign eco electrical contractors up as a sponsor because of our close links and because I recognise how important this Memorial is to the vital task of remembering the sacrifice and bravery shown by the Few in 1940," he said. "The Trust does a fantastic job honouring the veterans and it's important to support the work they do."
eco electrical contractors has grown to employ 16 members of staff and was recently responsible for the exterior floodlighting that now illuminates all the features of the Memorial at dusk each day.
The company is a silver sponsor, along with The Wing's air conditioning supplier Norton Technical Maintenance. Land and property auctioneers Clive Emson are also signed up as a bronze sponsor.
The Trust offers three affordable sponsorship packages tor companies looking to fulfil their corporate social responsibility pledges, find a local charity of the year to support or just support a worthy cause while raising their own profile across Kent and beyond.
The packages provide a blend of benefits depending on the level chosen, and include complimentary meeting room hire, free guided tours and significant social media and print advertising exposure, as well as a plaque inside the building - as illustrated in the photograph below, which shows Paul and Hayley with site manager Jules Gomez.
