We did it!

Hard work, enthusiasm and the great welcome we give visitors to the Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel-le-Ferne was rewarded last night (12 December) when we struck gold!

After being named as a finalist in this year's prestigious Beautiful South Awards for Excellence, the Trust attended the awards dinner at The Grand Hotel in Brighton knowing that we would come away with at least a bronze.

In the event, host Toby Anstis announced that the clifftop Memorial had won the gold award in the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year category.

The awards saw top quality entries from attractions based across the whole of the south of the country and were based on a 'mystery shopper' visit as well as on a written submission, making our win a tribute to the hard work of volunteers and staff at the site as well as of the Trustees who support and inspire the team.

The award was collected on behalf of the Trust by chairman Richard Hunting CBE and PR consultant Malcolm Triggs (pictured centre). Thanks to Nick Williams for the photograph.
