Remember the Few on 15 Sept

Battle of Britain Day, commemorated on 15 September each year, marks a decisive victory by the Royal Air Force which is now seen as having been a turning point in the Battle for air superiority over the UK.

The Battle of Britain Memorial marks the day with a short Service of Remembrance which takes place around the National Memorial to the Few at Capel-le-Ferne, beginning at 11am.

Everyone is welcome to join the ceremony, which takes place on Battle of Britain Day itself - this coming Friday - and NOT on the closest Sunday.

Please arrive by 10.50am. The Cockpit Cafe will be open as usual for refreshments after the service.

Every year on September 15, the British celebrate Battle of Britain Day to commemorate the decisive victory of the Royal Air Force over Britain in 1940. This is considered a pivotal point in World War II.
