We're really looking forward to having our new replica Mk1 Spitfire installed at the Memorial alongside our Mk1 Hurricane and alongside the dramatic stainless steel Stuka sculpture.
If you are as keen as we are to see the replacement Spitfire in situ, then we know you'll be pleased to see these photographs of work in progress.
GB Replicas, the Great Yarmouth-based company that is making the replica, reports that with all the parts now made, the Spitfire has been put together and then taken apart again ready to be painted. The primer coat has been applied and it won't be long before the camouflage top coat and the markings are added.
The replica will once again be painted to represent YT-J, serial number R6675, the Spitfire flown the most by Flying Officer Jeffery Quill OBE AFC during his short operational attachment to No 65 Squadron from 6 August to 24 August 1940.
I am very excited, looking forwad to the release of Spitfire, counting down the days and hours to the event. While waiting, I play Geometry Dash Scratch, a very good and interesting game, helping me relieve stress and fatigue in daily life.
This is incredible! Seeing the Spitfire come together like this is truly inspiring. I can't wait to see it in its full glory, Buckshot Roulette with the camouflage and markings.
If you share our enthusiasm to dordle see the installation of the new Spitfire replacement, we are certain that you will be delighted to view these images of the ongoing process.
