Fantastic news! The Memorial has been selected as one of the top three visitor attractions in the whole of the country.
We were thrilled in December to win the gold award in the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year category of the Beautiful South Awards for Excellence 2023-24, an award that named us the top attraction in the whole of the south of the country.
Now we’ve learned that out of 300 local winners eligible to go forward to the national finals in 15 tourism-related categories, the Memorial has been shortlisted as one of the three finalists.
It means the charity will win at least the bronze award in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence when the winners are announced on 5 June at a ceremony in Liverpool.
“This is fantastic news for the staff, volunteers and supporters of the Memorial,” commented chairman Richard Hunting CBE. “We were delighted to win the Beautiful South award and to now be named as one of the top three small visitor attractions nationwide is a great tribute to the hard work and support of everyone involved.”
