Long service recognised
Some of the unsung supporters who work tirelessly in the background to welcome visitors to the Memorial and make sure they get as much out of their visit as possible have been rewarded for their work.
The Trustees have decided to recognise the dedication of staff members and volunteers who have been connected with the Trust for significant periods of time by awarding long-service badges recognising five and 10 years’ service.
The first group of people to be recognised in this way includes five recipients of the 10-year award and 14 supporters who have reached the five-year milestone.
Trust Secretary Group Captain Patrick Tootal OBE made the first presentations to a group of staff and volunteers and further presentations with follow.
The picture below shows Patrick (far right) with (from left) site manager Jules Gomez, Paul Oram, Keith Pilcher, Keith Moffat, Jerry Watson and assistant manager Audrey Gomez.
The Trust is always pleased to welcome volunteers, whether they wish to contribute small or large amounts of time. The work is varied but always interesting and rewarding. Anyone who is interested in helping to sustain the National Memorial to the Few should please contact the site manager on 01303 249292 or email enquiries@battleofbritainmemorial.org
