Classic site, classic cars

Malcolm

Mercedes owners were the latest group of car enthusiasts to visit the Memorial at Capel-le-Ferne, enjoy a tour of the attractions and take in the coastal views.

Drivers included Dene Crisp, who brought his 1959 Ponton 220s Mercedes-Benz, which he purchased from its previous owner at Newport Beach, California. Dene is only the second owner of the car.

Martin King is pictured with his much newer model, highlighting the similarities between the Mercedes badge and the Spitfire propellor, as captured by the Memorial’s Trustee and official photographer Barry Duffield.

Visiting car clubs are a useful source of much-needed income for the Trust as they use the shop and café and donate generously to our funds.
