"Amazing place to visit"

When it comes to shout outs, it doesn't get much better than this - a no-holds-barred recommendation from two of the best known historians and broadcasters out there!

Second world war enthusiasts and popular broadcasters James Holland and Al Murray created this superb video about the clifftop Memorial after visiting Capel-le-Ferne to record one of their unique and much-loved podcasts.

Historian and author James and author and comedian Al clearly had a great time recording an episode of Walking The Ground looking at the course of the war from the Battle of France through to the end of the Battle of Britain in October 1940.

Met by Memorial Manager Jules Gomez, they were particularly impressed when a Spitfire overflew the Memorial’s inspirational clifftop setting - something that regularly happens on summer days blessed by good weather.

We can't wait to see the programme, which is expected to be aired in September at https://www.ww2headquarters.com/walking-the-ground
