A different world

Our Database of the Few page (https://www.battleofbritainmemorial.org/database-of-the-few) continues to feature incredible stories about the Few and about life in the 1940s as the Trust continues to collect unique material featuring those who fought the Battle of Britain.

The latest story written by Database of the Few Consulting Editor Geoff Simpson FRHistS is inspired by a vivid memoir written by Mrs Mary Connor, née Dodsley (1917-2001), who escaped from the island of Jersey as the Germans approached and married Spitfire pilot Flying Officer Francis “Frank” Connor.

Click the link above to read the story, and others in our unique collection.
