Looking for somewhere special to take the children this half term? The Battle of Britain Memorial Trust has the answer.
The free to visit*clifftop Memorial site is always a great place for a day out, but from 30 May to 5 June we're making it even easier to include The Scramble Experience - our only paid-for attraction - in your plans.
The Scramble Experience is an interactive, high-tech, audio-visual introduction to the Battle of Britain that combines touch screen access to fascinating fact about the Battle with lots of hands-on, fun activities. Families can even challenge each other to see who can shoot down the most enemy aircraft from the seat of our mock-up Hurricane cockpit in our harder-than-it-looks video game.
The Scramble Experience is good value at any time, with adults paying £6 to visit, children aged five to 16 just £4 and families (2+2) £16.50. For half term, though, we are running a 'buy one, get one free' offer that drops the cost to an even more affordable level for everyone. The free ticket must be for the same or lesser value and children must be accompanied by a paying adult.
There's also a cafe with great views of the French coast and a well-stocked souvenir shop, so before they have chance to say the 'bored' word, make a date to bring your family to the Memorial this half term.
*Nominal car parking charge applies. The Trust receives no public funding and needs to meet running costs of around £240,000 per year.
