Get stuck in to 2023!

A happy new year to all our friends, supporters, volunteers and staff from the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust.

2023 is set to be another busy year for the Trust as it celebrates the 30th anniversary of the unveiling of the National Memorial to the Few by Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother in July 1993.

While plans to mark that occasion are still being put together, we already have plenty of other events lined up to keep visitors and supporters amused and engaged as the year unfolds, including another series of our popular Sunday afternoon talks.

First up is an event that young and old can really get stuck into - building and painting a model Spitfire to take home in our February Make and Paint event held in association with everybody's favourite kit specialist Airfix.

Making models is an absorbing hobby that's great for dark and wet winter evenings, and this event offers an easy way to try it for the first time (although we are happy to welcome experienced modellers too!).

There are two sessions, the first from 10am to noon and the second from 2pm to 4pm, both on Sunday 12 February here at the Memorial, which is on the New Dover Road at Capel-le-Ferne, near Folkestone (CT18 7JJ).

We will provide the kit, glue, brushes and paints - all you need to bring is your enthusiasm. There will be expert advice on hand, car parking is free to those taking part and tickets for each session cost £5, with all the proceeds going to support the charity.
