History teachers love the Battle of Britain Memorial, and particularly the resources for schools housed in The Wing.
While one wing of the building is given over to The Scramble Experience, the other is home to the Geoffrey Page Centre, our purpose-built education area.
Schools can access The Scramble Experience for just £2.50 per person on a pre-booked visit (with free admission for up to three members of staff/coach drivers) and use the Geoffrey Page Centre for follow-up learning. We’ll even provide worksheets for Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 and a free guided tour of the site.
Please note: pre-booked coaches bringing visitors or school groups to The Scramble Experience benefit from free parking. Coaches that are not pre-booked must pay to park.
Here’s what one young visitor said:
‘The Battle of Britain Memorial in Capel-le-Ferne is an experience I will never forget. I especially liked the scramble experience; all of the noises made you really understand what it was like for the brave pilots. I think that the memorial is an extremely special place to remember those who served our country in the Battle of Britain.”
