Volunteering at the Battle of Britain Memorial

Volunteering

Looking to give something back to your community? The Battle of Britain Memorial in Capel-le-Ferne is on the lookout for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers with good mobility to join its team.

Our customer‑facing roles include welcoming visitors at reception, taking entrance fees and introducing the Scramble Experience, helping in the café (no food preparation required), or supporting visitors in the gift shop. We also offer opportunities to train as a tour guide or to volunteer in our outdoor areas.

Volunteers can offer either a full day or a half day on a regular basis to keep skills fresh, and we’re open seven days a week with summer shifts of 10am–1.30pm and 1.30pm–4.30pm, and winter shifts of 10am–1pm and 1pm–3.30pm. Weekend volunteering is especially appreciated.

No previous experience is needed – just enthusiasm, being physically fit and a warm smile – and full training is provided. If you’re aged 16 or over, you’ll gain the chance to learn new skills, make new friends and help share the powerful story of the Few with our visitors.

If you’re interested, you can either pop in or complete our form.
