Don’t miss our fascinating talk on how one Kent villlage has seen more than its fair share of air crashes.
Lying as it does underneath the flightpath to London, Kent has witnessed many air crashes, but the tiny village of Smarden has seen more than most.
Alex Ferris will tell the story this Sunday (28 October) at 2.30pm, when he gives a talk in The Wing entitled Air Crashes at Smarden since 1929.
The talk will tell the story of four aircraft and their pilots, from an early crash in 1929, a second one a few years later involving a pilot who featured in two crashes in the same week, and a Spitfire and Messerschmitt crash in the Second World War.
