On a cold, wet and foggy Saturday morning last May, a group of classic Land Rovers visited the National Memorial to the Few at Capel-le-Ferne at the start of a charity run.
While the weather was chilly, the welcome the enthusiasts received from the Trust and our volunteers was warm enough to persuade them to return – with a difference. This year the charity benefiting from the run is the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust.
The 2015 annual Charity Land Rover from Kent to Brugge will be held this year on 6 and 7 June and will again start from the site before heading across the Channel
Organised by Land Rover enthusiasts in Kent, the event will feature at least 40 classic Land Rovers registered between 1948 and 1975. The organising team has chosen to raise money for the Trust to mark this year’s 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
The great news is that participants have already raised £2,000 for the cause before the main fundraising activities planned for the weekend, which will include a charity auction on Sunday 7 June in Brugge.
