With the sun shining and thoughts turning to the warmer days ahead, the team at the Battle of Britain Memorial is already looking forward to the sight and sound of the first Spitfire to grace the site with its presence.
Our friends at Aero Legends regularly send Spitfires, Hurricanes and other iconic aircraft our way, often accompanied by the equally historic de Havilland Devon used to give passengers an unbeatable view of the graceful fighters.
While the fare-paying passengers are enjoying the experience of a lifetime, our visitors certainly aren’t complaining. Throughout the summer, those on the ground regular enjoy the sight of one of these veteran aircraft roaring along the coast, dipping a wing in salute to the Memorial and then continuing on its way, returning a few minutes later on the homeward journey to Headcorn.
The smart move is to plan a visit to the Memorial on a day when the majestic sight of a Spitfire is likely to make your day even more memorable – and the list below will help.
