Site manager Jules now a TV star

Our own site manager Jules Gomez will become a TV star on Monday (14 Sept) when he appears in a Bargain Hunt Battle of Britain Special to be shown at 12.15pm on BBC 1.

In an episode shot several weeks ago, Jules will be seen chatting to presenter Charlie Ross and explaining the background to the National Memorial to the Few and the men it honours.

In what the BBC itself describes as “a very special show”, Bargain Hunt will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the aerial battle that changed history.

As well as visiting the Memorial at Capel-le-Ferne and paying tribute to the aircrew whose names are listed on the Christopher Foxley-Norris Memorial Wall, Charlie will be shown visiting the RAF Museum in London.

The programme also revisits two teams in Lewes who were challenged to buy military items under the expert eye of Danny Sebastian and John Cameron.

    I was watching Bargain Hunt
Jules Gomez said they were still looking at names of those who served at the time
Perhaps you are able to answer a question.
My mother always said her brother flew in the Battle of Britain. His name is on the plaque at Biggin Hill Chapel (he died 1942) He did fly from there before his death but I nor a knowledgeable friend have been able to find his name in anything about the B of B.
He was a reserve in 124 sqn and I believe he spent time in Scotland around Scapa Flow.
I would love to know if he was part of the Battle.
