Paying our respects to the Few

Bright sunshine but a chill breeze welcomed the crowd of volunteers, villagers and visitors who gathered around the National Memorial to the Few at the heart of the Battle of Britain Memorial for the Trust’s annual Remembrance Day service this morning (11 November).

The Trust always observes the actual Armistice Day rather than the closest Sunday to it, and there was a good attendance for the short service, officiated by Father Kevin Jacobs, Padre to the ATC’s No 2230 Squadron in Sittingbourne, who has recently moved to Capel-le-Ferne.

Fr Jacobs was supported by Trustee Andy Simpson, site manager Jules Gomez and a handful of standard bearers, who braved at times gusty winds to add colour and dignity to the annual Act of Remembrance.
