Please join us this weekend as we commemorate a day that saw some of the fiercest fighting of the Battle of Britain.
Battle of Britain Day is held each year on 15 September, and the Trust marks it with a short service of commemoration at the National Memorial to the Few at Capel-le-Ferne.
Members of the public are warmly invited to join Trustees, staff, volunteers and standard bearers at the site to pay their respects to the fewer-than 3,000 aircrew who defended these shores in 1940.
Despite sending over huge numbers of bombers, as 15 September ended the Luftwaffe found themselves even further away from the air superiority they were seeking than they had been that morning thanks to the efforts of the Royal Air Force.
Seventy-nine years on, the Trust will mark the Few’s bravery with a short service that will begin at 11am. Please arrive by 10.50am.
