Drawing has pride of place

A unique drawing signed by the late Squadron Leader Geoffrey Wellum DFC now has pride of place in The Wing at Capel-le-Ferne alongside the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust’s other No 92 Squadron memorabilia.
The drawing, number 92 of a limited edition of 100, was presented to the Secretary of the Trust, Group Captain Patrick Tootal, back in June by Group Captain (Retd) Alastair McKay, Chairman of 92 Squadron Association.
Drawing number 92 had been earmarked as Sqn Ldr Wellum’s personal copy of the squadron print, drawn by aviation artist James Baldwin. The original, which hangs in the RAF Club in London’s Piccadilly, was commissioned to mark the centenary of No 92 (East India) Squadron RAF.
