The Wing Appeal

Fund-raising for the Trust’s ambitious Wing building has been going well, but more money is still needed to ensure we can add the high-tech audio-visual equipment that will help to tell the remarkable story of the Battle of Britain to a wide audience.

Work is underway on the building itself – you can see photographs elsewhere on this site – and the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust has enough in the kitty to finish that part of the project, thanks to our generous supports and donors and hard-working volunteers.

We are now an estimated £500,000 short of the final total, an achievable sum that reflects the huge support the project has generated by seeking to share the message of the bravery and sacrifice of the Few to a wider audience.

We are on target to complete The Wing, which will combine a high-tech visitor experience with learning and study facilities, by the autumn of 2014 ready for an official opening in July of 2015, the Battle of Britain’s 75th anniversary year.

But we still need your help. You can join Friends of the Few, sign up for one of our tours, pop in to the site for a coffee or buy one of our many souvenirs – or you could simply send a cheque to the address below. We will certainly put it to good use.
