Memorial Day Sunday 7 July 2019

Memorial Day is an exciting and colourful tribute to the heroes of the Battle of Britain.  The Central Band of the Royal Air Force, a parade of standards and the historic aircraft of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight* make this a day to remember.

The event, which features a flypast and display by aircraft from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (weather permitting) will in 2019 mark the 26th anniversary of the unveiling of the National Memorial to the Few, the centrepiece of the clifftop site.

Next year’s event is still in the planning stage but will once again be a fitting tribute to those who took part in arguably the most important battle of the 20th century. More details will be added when available.

Hello we are looking to come along on Sunday 1st July – can you tell me please is there disabled parking? and is it possible to have a picnic within the grounds?

Thank you in advance – Jayne

    Dear Jayne,

there is a General Public parking area on the day as our main car park is used for invited guests. There will be limited disabled parking but I must stress that there is a small walk to the main area and I would recommend to get in early otherwise you will have to park with the rest of the General Public.

as for a picnic, there is no designated area for this as you will appreciate it can get very busy with visitors on the day. There will be food and refreshments available on the day to purchase.

Please advise re RAF events being planned for 2019.
I am planning to arrange for a 40 people coach of RAF veterans to attend during the summer of 2019.

    Dear Charles

Thank you for your comment. Any events planned for 2019 will be published on our web site – events page once finalised. As every year we hold our Memorial Day as close to 10th July every year and in 2019 will be on 7th July.

    Kind regards
