Our friends at the Kent Battle of Britain Museum, just a few miles away on the site of a former WW2 airfield at Hawkinge, will soon be closing their doors for the winter.
The museum has a superb collection of aircraft and other machinery, artefacts, personal memorabilia and many more fascinating historial items from the Battle of Britain, and is well worth a visit. It is well known for its tributes to aircrew from both sides of the conflict.
We encourage visitors who pay their respects to the Few here at the Memorial and enjioy learning about the Battle of Britain in The Scramble Experience to add to their day by combining it with a visit to the museum.
That joint visit will only be possible for another few weeks this year, though, as the museum will close its doors for the last time at 4pm on Sunday 3 November, giving the team a few months to prepare the site for next year’s season, which will start on Saturday 4 April 2020. The museum is at Aerodrome Road, Hawkinge, Kent CT18 7AG and is open from 8am to 8pm Tuesday to Sunday. Make sure you get there in the next few weeks!
