The National Memorial to the Few is a peaceful space, offering quiet reflection, clifftop walks and views across the Channel to France. The central statue of a lone pilot is complemented by the Christopher Foxley-Norris Memorial Wall, a replica Spitfire and Hurricane, a bust of Air Chief Marshal Sir Keith Park and other items of interest.
The new Wing building is home to the exciting Scramble Experience, the Geoffrey Page Centre, which is a dedicated education sense, a new retail area and the Cockpit Cafe, which has an unbeatable view of the Channel and (on a clear day) the coast of France.
The new building has ladies, gents and disabled toilets and a lift to the first floor café, which sells hot drinks, soft drinks, ice creams, snacks, sandwiches and confectionery. The shop stocks a wide range of souvenirs and Battle of Britain-themed gifts, including many unique collectors’ items signed by the Few.
Special events are held throughout the year and the Fly with a Spitfire experience operates close to Capel-le-Ferne, providing superb views of a Spitfire over the Memorial on a number of occasions. Check the news section of this site or visit our Facebook page to keep up to date.
