Welcome to Capel le Ferne and to the National Memorial to those who fought in the Battle of Britain.

I hope that, like me, you will feel the special atmosphere of this Memorial and its surroundings high on the White Cliffs in an area where some of the most intense aerial fighting took place in 1940. Here we remember not only the aircrew who fought for us in the sky over England, but all the men and women who supported them in so many capacities and were equally willing to give their lives to preserve the freedom we continue to enjoy so many years later.

With my fellow Trustees, I believe that it is vital that these deeds are never forgotten. I hope that your visit to the National Memorial will be both pleasurable and moving. If you feel able to give a donation towards our work or to join the Friends of the Few that will be deeply appreciated.
