Fund-raising is now well advanced for the Trust’s ambitious Wing building, but more money is still needed to ensure the speedy completion of this exciting project.
By current standards, The Wing is an achievable project, costing an estimated £2.8 million, not just to build but to fit out with the high-tech equipment that will make it such an exciting experience.
So far – and within a relatively short time – the Trust has raised about £1.7 million, well over half the total, a reflection of the huge support that the project has generated as it seeks to spread the message of the bravery and sacrifice of the Few.
The current timetable is to complete The Wing, which will combine a high-tech visitor experience with learning and study facilities, by the autumn of 2014 ready for an official opening in July of 2015, the Battle of Britain’s 75th anniversary year.
To reach that target we need your help. Even a car sticker will contribute to the appeal, as will joining the Friends of the Few, popping in to the site for a coffee or buying one of our many souvenirs.
We are currently working on setting up an online shop, but in the meantime you can buy a number of souvenirs by sending a cheque to the address below.
