Here’s some great news for anyone who has yet to visit our fantastic Scramble Experience and is finding cash a bit tight after the festive season.
After a successful trial in 2016, the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust is again taking part in the Kent Big Weekend, which this year offers local people a free day out on the weekend of 1 and 2 April.
The Trust has made 125 pairs of tickets available on each of the two days and is expecting demand to be high. The lucky visitors are selected by ballot from all those people who register on the Big Weekend website next month.
“Last year was very successful, with lots of people visiting the Scramble Experience, and perhaps the Memorial itself, for the first time,” explained Trustee Andy Simpson. “It’s good for the Trust because we get the chance to reach a new audience – and we hope people will support us by having a look around the shop or visiting the cafe during their visit.”
Those who want to visit the Experience (the rest of the site at Capel-le-Ferne, including the shop and cafe, is always free) simply have to register at www.kentbigweekend.co.uk to enter themselves into the ballot.
Registration opens on 9 February and remains open until 3 March, and offers lots of other great days out as well as the chance to visit The Scramble Experience, our interactive, audio-visual introduction to the Battle of Britain.
The Kent Big Weekend is organised by Visit Kent to “encourage local residents to discover and experience the many wonderful attractions and activities available in their home county and spread the word to others”.
Of course, if you can’t wait until April to come and see us, we would be equally happy to see you any time!
