Fund-raising run helps the cause

Trust supporter Steve Penford has raised more than £400 for the charity by completing the ten miles of the Great South Run in Portsmouth.

Steve, whose efforts were supported by a Mydonate fundraising page linked to this site, has a personal connection with the Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel-le-Ferne. The Christopher Foxley-Norris Memorial Wall includes the name of his grandfather, Flight Sergeant Pilot VWR Penford, who served with No. 23 Squadron.

“As well as honouring the Few, the aircrew who fought in 1940, the Trust is committed to educating future generations about the importance of the Battle and I was proud to complete the run in memory of my grandfather and the rest of the veterans,” he commented.
