A vote of thanks to our staff and volunteers

The annual Christmas lunch for our amazing band of volunteers and staff was again well supported, with guests thanked by no less than two former Chiefs of the Air Staff.

Both retiring president of the Trust Air Chief Marshal Sir Michael Graydon and incoming president Sir Stephen Dalton paid tribute to the remarkable work that the team does to keep the site at Capel-le-Ferne running smoothly.

Site manager Jules Gomez presented Sir Michael with a unique book of photographs documenting his time at the helm, during which the new Wing building was opened by Her Majesty the Queen accompanied by His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh.

The splendid lunch at the Ramada Hotel, just outside Dover, gave Trustees, staff and volunteers the opportunity to look back on another busy year and look forward to the site reopening fully on 3 January, 2017. The site itself will remain open to those on foot throughout the Christmas period, although the Wing and car park are currently closed.
